The middle of July is here and I am already seeing school supply sales. I don’t even think the ink is dry on final report cards yet.
The weather continues to cooperate and Moncton is alive with festivals, car shows and an amazing line up of concerts.
The housing market remains strong and homes are selling. Now is a great time to be purchasing a home so if you are on the fence you need to get off it and get into a new home.

Interest Rate News
Now onto the interest rate news. Rates have continued to stay low and it looks like they will continue to do so for the near future. We are currently seeing 5 year fixed rates from 2.54% to 2.79% depending on how quick you can close. These rates have all the mortgage options attached to them so you can feel assured of a great mortgage product. The variable rate is currently sitting with as much as 75 off the banks prime lending rate. (Current prime rate is 2.70%). This equates to an initial mortgage rate offering of 1.95%. (O.A.C and subject to change without notice). The BoC did drop there rate by 0.25% bringing it down to 0.50%. The banks lowered 0.15% bringing the prime from 2.85% to 2.70%. This is a great rate and if done correctly a variable rate mortgage is a great product.
Have a great weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather we are expected to have.
